Preparing For Your Colonic
-
Start preparing for your session at least 48 hours in advance if possible
-
Make sure you're well hydrated at least a day before and the day of your appointment. Well hydrated varies by person, but we recommend drinking half your body weight in ounces. In addition to water, fluids from herbal teas, fresh fruit, vegetables and healthy soups also count. Try to have your drinks room temperature or warm if possible.
-
Eat a light healthy diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables. This prepares the digestive tract for better movement. Avoid heavy meals, processed foods, and over-eating at least 48 hours in advance of your appointment.
-
Unless you are on a medically prescribed diet, STOP EATING 2 HR BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
Extra Tips:
-
Take fresh ginger tea to settle the stomach and improve comfort during session.
-
Take magnesium the night before and day of your session helps to relax the colon muscles and prevent cramping during the session.

Optimizing Your Detox
Everyone's experience is different depending on your unique health situation. Most people feel normal, a little lighter and clearer right after your session, but many people can feel tired, especially after their first couple of sessions; however, most people can go back to life as usual such as working out or going to work.
We do recommend focusing on self-care the day of your colonic. Most people have flatter stomachs after the appointment, but some individuals do experience tenderness or bloating in the tummy. Occasionally, but rarely, you may experience “symptoms of detox” or “healing crisis” where you get symptoms of illness right after your cleanse.
Please know, having a colonic is not like taking a laxative. You should not feel uncontrollable urges to go to the bathroom once your appointment is finished. You may have to use the bathroom from time to time, but you should have full control when having a bowel movement.
-
Keep a light, clean diet for at least 48 hours after your appointment.
-
Steam your veggies (raw veggies can be hard to digest and make you gassy.) Eat lots of fresh fruit and fresh juices.
-
Healthy soups, stews and healthy whole grains like brown rice, quinoa, barley, porridge.
-
Lean protein such as nuts, seeds, fish, organic chicken or turkey breast are best.
-
Probiotic rich foods such as sauerkraut, kefir, kimchi are great to eat.
-
Eat smaller portions, eat slowly, and chew thoroughly as digestion begins in the mouth.
-
Please remember, absorption and assimilation of nutrients are enhanced after your colonic, so whatever you take into your body matters!
After cleansing the colon it is the perfect time to focus on cultivating healthy probiotic populations in your digestive system. Have quality probiotics on hand after your colonic to take daily ( at the least 3 days after, but preferably everyday.) We have 5 types to choose from, so make sure to ask which is best for you!
-
Maintain a clean, healthy diet with plenty of hydration.
-
Take an herbal cleanse like: CleanStart, Tiao He, Dieters, ParaCleanse, CandidaClear
-
Incorporate fresh pressed vegetable and fruit juices into your diet, regularly.
-
Exfoliation you skin by brushing, steams, saunas, salt baths etc.
-
Refrain from drinking alcohol and caffeine
-
This is a perfect time to de-clutter your home and environment. Remember, what you are surrounded by is what your mind will feel and reflect.
